Ronald E. McNair Middle School

New Facility Construction

The new Ronald E. McNair Middle School epitomizes innovation in every way. The replacement school is the first Future-Ready school in the County with 186,530 SF and 62 instructional units of modernized space. Future-ready schools are characteristically collaborative, flexible, and welcoming, and those characteristics spilled over to the construction team. Evergreen was highly collaborative with the project team throughout the job. We remained flexible with the schedule to allow more time during the planning and programming phases to ensure the design was just right before mobilizing. Our team worked in tandem with our subcontractors to prepare look-ahead schedules, to ensure we followed the critical path of the project to make sure we delivered on time. This allowed the school time to move in, including the teachers to prepare their classrooms before the first day of school.
